Doug Judd Founder & CEO
Doug is the original creator of Hypertable. He led the Hypertable development team at Zvents and was instrumental in spinning the technology out to form Hypertable, Inc.
Doug first gained big data experience when he joined Inktomi’s Web Search division in 1997. There he held both management and engineering positions and was a driving force behind the development of the company's distributed crawling and indexing infrastructure.
With 20 years in the technology industry, Doug has a breadth of experience working for a broad range of companies including, Booz Allen Hamilton, Cambrian Ventures, Inktomi, Kosmix (@walmartlabs), Verity, Unisys, and Zvents.
Doug earned a B.S. in Computer Science from U.C. Santa Barbara in 1992 and holds four patents in search technology.
Rebeccca Ritter VP, Marketing and Corporate Communications
Rebecca Ritter is responsible for planning, developing and delivering marketing and communications strategies for the company and it’s partners.
Rebecca joined Hypertable, Inc. with over 20 years of senior-level experience in marketing, public relations and promotions. Prior to joining the company, Rebecca was Channel Marketing Manager at Check Point Software, whereby she created worldwide programs for lead generation, channel education, partner communications, partnering events, and field support. Rebecca was responsible for the development and execution of joint marketing programs with strategic partners to secure and maintain mind-share for Check Point Internet security solutions.
Previously, Rebecca developed and managed public relations programs for Check Point’s OPSEC Framework, the company’s technology partner alliance group and provided strategic council for multiple product organizations. In addition, she managed the public relations team for SGI’s Super Computing Division. She also managed high-tech, public relations teams at leading PR agencies for client’s such as Sun Microsystems and Hewlett-Packard.
Rebecca earned an undergraduate degree in English Literature from UCLA.

Ethan Stock Director
Ethan was the CEO and Co-founder of Zvents Inc, the company where Hypertable got its start. Ethan brings a diverse background in scholarship and technology to the pursuit of entrepreneurial ventures. In 1996, while in graduate school at UC Berkeley on an NSF fellowship, he founded Bamboo Systems, an early entrant in the CRM market. In 2000, he served as COO of eBusinessMedia, the B2B Internet arm of UK publisher United News & Media, where he oversaw the launch of multiple industry-focused internet content and commerce properties, including the first deployment of CommerceOne in Europe. Ethan also worked as a principal consultant at strategy firm The McKenna Group in the late 1990s. He holds a B.A. in History from The Ohio State University.
Gordon Rios Advisor
Gordon is a Research Fellow at University College Cork, Ireland and is a proven leader in search and search-related technologies. Over the past 15 years he has focused his efforts on devising machine learning systems for web search, document classification, and text mining. At Inktomi he developed the scoring engine for a user click-based ranking application that was deployed at HotBot and Snap, was a major contributor to the Directory Engine product which classified millions of web documents into over 14,000 categories, and was a founding member of Inktomi's Web Search Relevance Group. Gordon joined Yahoo! in the International Search team, where he worked on all aspects of search engine relevance developing production code running in all major international markets. Gordon holds an MBA in Finance and a master's degree in Engineering and Computer Science from U.C. Berkeley.
